Circonnact hosts the Circular Vienna Community where people meet, exchange ideas and collaborate to promote circularity in Vienna and beyond.
The workshops and events of the Circular Economy Club Vienna to promote Vienna as a Circular City and gather key stakeholders have been a great success in the recent years. Vanessa and Andreas have been co-organizers of the club and ran several workshops to identify which improvements can be made. A main success was a joint request from more than 40 leaders in the city to the mayor which supported establishing the role of the Project Coordinator for circular construction in the municipality.
At Circonnact, we want to ensure the people who have met and brought in their ideas will find a place to further collaborate, exchange ideas with like-minded people and promote circularity in the city of Vienna. We therefore host the Circular Vienna Community, with inspiring guest speakers and room for exchange of the participants. In our first event, Susanne Formanek, CEO and Co-Founder of Grünstattgrau, a research and innovation organization with a huge knowledge of greening buildings in an urban environment. They are involved in a lot of international projects to promote nature-based solutions, and offer qualification programs to become urban greening consultant. Susanne presented the 50 green buildings for Vienna project, an inspiring showcase on different solutions from green roofs, how to combine it with solar panels successfully, different ways on how to use green walls and the motivation of the local community to support these projects.
After the inspiration we split into breakout sessions in smaller groups so that everyone could get into contact with other enthusiasts on circular economy. Because of the great feedback we will have further events for the community in 2021 – we will inform you if you register on this page.
